Why are we raising money?
Half of the money generated during The Great Steamboat Caroling Competition is to assist Lift Up Services because they need money, especially during the Holidays. The other half of the funds will go towards the Merry MainStreet Celebration Fund.

When is the competition?
Saturday, December 10th 2011
5pm Check in and get registration bag at 6th
5:30pm March in the Santa parade
6-7pm Carol at your assigned location
7-7:15pm Top teams participate in a sing off; team with the loudest cheers from the public wins
What is the Great Steamboat Caroling Competition?
It is a fundraiser and community spirit event. It is to get people downtown on the streets to get that warm fuzzy holiday feeling. The Great Steamboat Caroling Competition is a chance to sing and rejoice in the Holidays and Steamboat Springs. We are hoping to make $1000 the first year and of course more the next.
Do I have to sing well in order to participate?
Nope! All you have to do is participate to sing. You can be a beginner or an opera singer; it is only important to have fun and raise money.
Do we have to sing traditional carols?
No. You can make up words to traditional tunes, if you like.
How can I participate?
Recruit 4 or more carolers to form your team, designate a team captain, fill out this application and mail or drop off your team’s registration fee. The fee is only $20. Once we receive your registration fee and form, we will email you confirmation and details as to where onLincolnyou will be caroling.
How do I raise money?
We will supply boxes to put in front of your group. Then it is up to you to encourage your friends, audience and bosses to put money in your box! (You could always solicit in advance!)

What are the Awards?
Your team will win something funny for sure; it is a surprise and of course your team will be featured in the paper and on the MainStreet Facebook Page.
The top 2 teams in the Judges Picks will get to perform on 8th Street in a “Sing Off”

The Caroling group that collects the most money in their box will also get to perform on 8th.
