The “Faces of October 7” program offers an opportunity to hear the testimony of a Jewish Israeli survivor of the tragic October 7th attack. The gathering’s purpose is to witness the personal experience of a survivor and engage in a collective reflection on how we can support the healing journey for all affected by such trauma, while working toward ending violence and hate. All are welcome to attend and witness.
Note: This event is not intended to take a political stance on middle east geopolitics nor will it include testimony from Palestinians. A more in-depth exploration of these complex issues will be offered in future discussions. The focus here is on solidarity, compassion, and understanding as we work to heal and prevent further suffering.
About our speaker:
Irene was living in Kfar Aza, with her beloved fiancé, Netta, on October 7th, 2023. She sheds light into the life of being a resident of the idyllic peace-loving community and young in-love couple’s experience hiding in their bedroom on one of the most heavily massacred streets. Irene describes her survival story, all the way from hiding behind her fiancé’s murdered body, to her now, deciding to continue living a life full of laughter and love. It’s impossible not to be inspired by her remarkable way of persevering through life, the way Netta would have wanted. Irene’s story is a beautiful combination of love, tragedy, and strength. We will also be joined by Dar Halevy Feldman, CEO and Founder of “Faces of October 7th”.
