TREAD OF PIONEERS MUSEUM’S WINTER FILM SERIES AT THE CHIEF THEATER

Back by popular demand, the Tread of Pioneers Museum’s Winter Films Series returns to the historic Chief Theater select dates December through March at 6pm. Everyone’s invited to come out of the cold and into the warm and cozy Chief Theater to see all the fascinating films we have in store for you.

The film series is a partnership and outreach program between the Tread of Pioneers Museum and the Chief Theater that brings history, art, and entertainment under one roof. All events are approximately one hour total.

Jan 16 – “Walk in Their Footsteps: The Flat Tops Trail Scenic Byway” & “Bloomers to Ballots”
The local history of the Ute people in the area, the creation of the Flat Tops Wilderness Area, and the “Range Wars” is featured in this short film by local film producer and director F.M. “Smokey” Vandergrift (1999).

Then, women’s status, their fight for the right to vote, and their struggles and successes on the Western Frontier comes to life in this Rocky Mountain Legacy series by PBS/KRMA Denver (1996).
