Bus and Shuttle Information

Unfamiliar roads and limited parking can make getting into Downtown Steamboat a bit of a challenge. Luckily for you, you won’t need to draw straws for your designated driver because Steamboat offers an abundance of alternative means of transportation.

The Steamboat Springs Transit Service offers a FREE, city wide bus route. For those who have particular destinations in mind, shuttle services like The Storm Mountain Express and Go Alpine are also an option, as well as UBER or LIFT. Take a look below to see what option suits you the best.

Steamboat Springs Transit Service

LOCAL SERVICE:

The Local Service provides a fixed route FREE transit service throughout the City of Steamboat Springs. Year-round service is provided daily across town and between downtown and the ski resort mountain village with a bus arriving every 20 minutes.

Schedule information is available on buses and in brochure racks. The local bus route is a FREE system!

GO Alpine

  • PAID Options

GO Alpine offers six types of transport service: The Denver Airport Shuttle, The Hayden Airport Shuttle, Private Vehicle Service, Hourly Charters, Wedding/Event Transportation and a Local Taxi Service.

DENVER AIRPORT SHUTTLE

The Denver Airport Shuttle offers daily, scheduled, shared ride shuttles between the Denver International Airport and Steamboat Springs. This shuttle is a shared ride, meaning you’ll be riding with others with different stops. Click here for schedule information 

HAYDEN AIRPORT SHUTTLE

Much like the Denver Airport Shuttle, the Hayden Airport Shuttle gives daily, scheduled, shared rides from the Hayden Airport to Steamboat. This service is blessing compared to driving a rental car through bad weather. Click here for schedule information   

PRIVATE VEHICLE AIRPORT SERVICE 

Unlike the shared shuttle rides, the Private Vehicle Service will pick up your party, no matter the size, and bring you directly to your lodging. These private rides can also stop for you at grocery stores, rental shops and liquor stores before taking you to your destination. Click here for pricing information

CHARTER SERVICE

WEDDING/EVENT TRANSPORTATION 

For your special events like weddings, graduation parties or family reunions, the Wedding/Event service has everything you need to get your party from point A to point B on your special day! Some of the luxurious vehicles include streach limousines equipped with stereo sound systems, and dry bar facilities, and a saloon themed mini-bus complete with hardwood floors, a swinging door, cowboy hats and fun for your whole party. Click here for more information

LOCAL TAXI SERVICE 

Unlike most towns of this size, Steamboat Springs boasts an exceptional taxi service by GO Alpine. These taxis are perfect for getting back to the hotel or condo after a night out at the bars. Rates are $4 per-person plus $2 per-mile. Click here for more info

Storm Mountain
Express

The Storm Mountain Express Shuttle provides exclusive airport transportation service to the airports in Denver, Eagle, Vail and Hayden with a large fleet of vehicles, the largest of which can accommodate up 21 people. The shuttle to Hayden can either be shared or exclusive, while the other airport offer exclusive rides only. Storm Mountain also offers a more luxurious option with their Luxury SUV rentals. Charter

This locally owned and operated car service is a top choice for getting around in the winter. Captains High Country Charter provides transportation to and from the airports in Hayden, Denver and Eagle, as well as local transportation around town. While many of Steamboat’s lodging options are located on the Free Bus route, many hotels offer a complimentary shuttle service. These shuttles typically operate during the ski season, transporting people to and from the ski resort, but they also provide transport to the downtown areas as well as to and from the airports of Hayden, Eagle and Denver.
