While you’re out and about at Steamboat’s finest restaurants, come check out these events happening during 2019 Steamboat Restaurant Week! From cultural experiences at the Steamboat Art Museum to the 3 Redneck Tenors performance at the Chief theatre to live musical performances at various restaurants, there is something here for everyone!
On the first Saturday of Restaurant Week (September 28th) the Steamboat Community is hosting their annual Downtown Chili Challenge. Sample chili entries in 4 categories, Red, Green, Salsa and Cornbread from Steamboat’s Favorite Restaurants and Caterers as they compete for bragging rights. We have been hosting the challenge for many years in Steamboat and there is always a battle for bragging rights to the People’s Choice Award, where you get to vote on the winners. Past winners include, JJ’s Chili from Mahogany Ridge Brewery and Grill, Classic Cowgirl Chili from the Routt County Cattle Women, and Smoked Green Hog Chili from Moe’s BBQ. Additionally, all of our entries are submitted to our panel of professional chefs for judging in a blind tasting. This is your chance to sample and vote for this years Downtown Chili Challenge winners. There will be cocktails, live music and games throughout the duration of the event. So come on down to the 2019 Downtown Chili Challenge and enjoy the kick off of restaurant week with the whole community!
Additionally, to close the 2019 Restaurant Week there will the Steamboat Food and Wine Festival from Thursday, October 3rd to Sunday October 6th. Steamboat Food and Wine Festival will be a celebration of the unique, local culinary scene complemented by collaborations from local Steamboat chefs as well as chefs across the country. In addition there will be phenomenal wine, beer and cocktail pairings to complement Steamboat’s local cuisine. This is the perfect event to end our 2019 Steamboat Restaurant Week.
